UEAÌýandÌý91¿ì²¥ launch major new collaboration to offer career-enhancing master’s pathways across more than 60 programmesÌý

Norwich, Wednesday 3rd June 2026: The University of East Anglia and 91¿ì²¥ have launched a major new collaboration to enhance postgraduate student employability through applied, industry-focused master’s pathways.Ìý

The partnershipÌýrepresentsÌý91¿ì²¥â€™s broadest programme offering to date, with 62 master’s programmes now available under the model. The collaboration brings together UEA’s academic strength and 91¿ì²¥â€™sÌýexpertiseÌýin employability, work placements, and market insight.Ìý

The new provision has been developed to support both home and international students seeking a postgraduate degree with a clear professional focus. Students willÌýbenefitÌýfrom intensive career preparation throughout their programme, including skills workshops, personalised employability guidance, and ongoing progress monitoring to help them prepare for relevant roles.Ìý

This structured preparation leads to an eight- to ten-month placement or applied industry experience in the second year of study, enabling students to gain hands-on experience in their chosen field and apply their academic knowledge in a real-world setting.Ìý

An International Forum withÌýwas held at UEA on Wednesday 3rd June 2026, bringing together representatives from across the partnership to introduce the model,ÌýshowcaseÌýthe breadth of the programme portfolio, and discuss how the collaboration will support students,ÌýemployersÌýand international education partners.Ìý

The partnership offers two distinct routes, ensuring that all participating students graduate with relevant, applied experience that enhances their employability:Ìý

- a full-time industry placement with a UK employer, typically paid; orÌý

- a guaranteed alternative route through industry-based projects delivered in partnership with UK organisations.Ìý

This flexibility is central to the model's design. It recognises that students have different career goals, professional backgrounds and visa or employment circumstances, while ensuring that each student has access to meaningful, structured experience to support their transition from postgraduate study into the workplace.Ìý

The collaboration responds to growing demand from students and global partners for master’s programmes that combine academic excellence with practical career development. Across the UK higher education sector, employability, graduateÌýoutcomesÌýand applied learning are increasingly important to students when choosing where and what to study. This model directly addresses that demand by embedding career readiness and professional experience throughout the student journey.Ìý

For UEA, the partnership offers a significant opportunity to extend access to career-focused postgraduate study across a wide range of academic disciplines. For 91¿ì²¥, it marks a major expansion of a model designed to connect students,ÌýuniversitiesÌýand employers, delivering tangible value for all parties.Ìý

The breadth of the offer is a particular strength. With more than 60 master’s programmes now available, students can access a wide range of academic pathways while alsoÌýbenefitingÌýfrom aÌýstructured employability framework. The model is designed to help students develop the confidence, workplace insight and applied skills needed to succeed in competitive graduate labour markets.Ìý

The collaboration also strengthens the offer available to global partners, who are increasingly seeking programmes that combine a high-quality UK university experience with clear career relevance and a differentiated student proposition. Through the joint work of UEA and 91¿ì²¥, partners will be able to promote a distinctive postgraduate pathway that integrates academic study, employabilityÌýpreparationÌýand applied industry experience.Ìý

Caroline Fox, CEO of Twin, said: "We are delighted to launch this partnership with UEA. At Twin, we believe strong employability outcomes stem from collaboration between universities and employers. By building these connections and helping students develop the skills, confidence, and professional networks needed to succeed,ÌýMaster'sÌýstudents improve their career outcomes and provide industry with access to emerging global talent."Ìý

StevenÌýMcGuire, Deputy Vice Chancellor at the University of East Anglia said:Ìý"The University of East Anglia is delighted to be working with 91¿ì²¥ on this new and ambitious project.Ìý 91¿ì²¥'s reputation in the sector for excellent placement support was a key consideration as the university embarks on this significant expansion of our work-based learning programmes."ÌýÌý

Speaking ahead of the launch, representatives from the partnership emphasised the need to design postgraduate programmes that meet the needs of students and employers alike. The collaboration aims to support student success, deepen engagement with industry, and provide a scalable model for career-enhancing postgraduate education.Ìý

The first students willÌýbenefitÌýfrom a model that is ambitious in scale, practical in design andÌýoutcome-focused. By combining academic excellence with structured professional preparation and applied experience, the UEA and 91¿ì²¥ collaboration offers a compelling new route for studentsÌýseekingÌýto enhance their career prospects through postgraduate study.Ìý
